We identified the university’s strongest attributes, including its outstanding academic programs, top-ranked beautiful campus rich in history, and ideal location in a thriving college town. Faced with a significant perception challenge, UM-Flint needed to tell the powerful story of an engaged campus community coming together to break down barriers, solve complex problems, and change lives. Working closely with campus leadership, we developed the university's new brand to tell this story: YOU TO THE POWER OF M.

The new brand encapsulates the unique perspective UM-Flint brings to a renowned University of Michigan education, while celebrating the uniquely prepared graduates who emerge from this remarkable, resilient campus ready to use their degree as a force for good. It's working: UM-Flint recently hit its freshman enrollment goals for the first time in five years.

The Hebrew Academy ›

Located in Huntington Beach, CA, the Hebrew Academy is one of the only co-educational Jewish private day schools in the region, serving pre-school through high school students. In recent years, the Academy had seen its enrollment numbers steadily shrink.

Realizing that it needed to appeal to a broader community of Jewish families to increase enrollment, the Hebrew Academy approached Copy & Design to assist with rebranding its recruitment collateral. We helped the Academy identify its core messages and strengths, then developed a clean, modern, and welcoming brand that speaks to the school’s inclusiveness and nurturing qualities as well as its excellent academic programs for students from all Jewish experiences and backgrounds.

A little-known but vital community resource, GlendaleLEARNS offers a wide range of free courses for adults seeking to finish their high school diplomas, prepare for college, learn English, complete a certification, or train for a new career. Copy & Design was brought in to help this life-changing program reach more potential adult learners, especially those in underserved and immigrant communities as well as people with disabilities. Building on GlendaleLEARNS' existing logo, we created a new brand and are now extending it across a variety of outreach communications.

A passionate champion for inclusivity and equality in education, Dr. Borrego reached out to us for help creating a website showcasing her unique experience and perspective as a speaker and consultant. California State University Dominguez Hills ›

A public school with an urban location in Southern California, CSUDH had long been struggling with increasingly low enrollment numbers as well as community-wide misperceptions about the quality of its academics and students. In 2008, our team began working with CSUDH’s Enrollment Management and Student Affairs division to develop year-round strategic communications aimed at branding the university as a leading urban model of higher learning, while increasing application and enrollment numbers among high-performing students.

After partnering with CSUDH, the university hit its enrollment targets for the first time in 10 years. CSUDH has also improved the quality of its applicants, dramatically increased website traffic, and enhanced retention rates. The communications we developed for CSUDH won several CASE awards including a Gold, Silver and Bronze.

We’ll work with you to develop a customized, attractive, and elegantly simple stand-alone admissions microsite designed specifically for your prospective students. Your admissions microsite offers a cost-effective way to give prospective applicants quick access to exactly the content they want with a student-friendly online experience. While also giving your admissions staff an easy way to quickly update admissions content. 

AACRAO Consulting ›

The consulting arm of the largest non-profit organization of higher education professionals, AACRAO Consulting contacted Copy & Design for help in developing a multi-channel campaign aimed at driving new business.  First we built the back-end for the AACRAO Consulting website with an aim toward easy updating and quick-loading pages for both mobile and desktop visitors. To help with their white paper library, we also created graphic Word templates allowing AACRAO Consulting to keep PDF production in-house, saving them time and money. We also created a series of postcards directed to university leadership, each focused on a specific area of AACRAO’s consulting expertise.

We also developed emails to correspond with each postcard. Both postcards and emails directed recipients to a custom landing page that allowed AACRAO to track response rates while communicating more targeted information. To bolster the campaign, we also created messaging for social media posts. Pleased with the results, AACRAO is partnering with us for the next phase of their direct mail and digital campaign.
